Baked Apple


Ingredients

  • 1 Medium apple
  • 15g Dried mixed fruit
  • 1 Dried apricot
  • 2 tsp Mixed spice
Baked Apple

Method

  1. Slice the top from the apple with a sharp knife and set aside
  2. Core the fruit and scoop out the flesh
  3. Chop the apple flesh and dried apricot before combining with the dried mixed fruit and mixed spice
  4. Spoon the mixture into the hollow apple and replace the top
  5. Wrap loosely in baking foil and cook slowly in a cool oven
  6. Serve with custard and a dusting of mixed spice or cinnamon

Cooking Temperature: 150 degrees

Cooking Time: 30 Minutes

Tips and Comments

  • This is a quick mid-week dessert and is a good solution for elderly apples that need to get out of the fruit bowl!
  • Easily adapted to serve as many or as few portions a required but best served fresh.
